Watson D. Allen, 99, of Toledo, Ohio, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 11, 2020. Born March 1, 1921, in Samson, Alabama, he was the son of James A. and Mattie L. (Norton) Allen. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. Watson married Eloise V. Wynne on November 19, 1944. She preceded him on death on Aug. 29, 1979. He then married Lois Schwalbe on April 16, 1987. Watson was a member of the Local 213 Carpenters Union. Watson was a minister with the Church of God Mountain Assembly serving as associate pastor of Shelton Park Church of God in Temperance, MI. His heart touched everyone who knew him. He had great wisdom and was a help and encouragement to many. His loving spirit and sense of humor was one of a kind. Watson educated himself throughout his lifetime. Reading was his enjoyment, especially the Holy Bible. Watson is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Lois; children, Dixie Alexander, David (Karen) Allen, Douglas (Pepi) Schwalbe, Darren (Cheryl) Schwalbe and Tina (Gary) Vendittelli; 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his son, Coy; 9 brothers and 6 sisters. Visitation with Social Distancing guidelines will be from 5-7 pm, on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at the Shelton Park Church of God, 8702 Douglas Rd, Temperance, MI 48182, where funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm.
