Paul W Schwieger, the son of Edward and Elsa (Meyer) Schwieger, was born August 10, 1936, in Fairmont, Minnesota. He passed away Saturday, October 10, 2020, at Good Samaritan Society in Estherville, Iowa, at the age of 84 years.
He received his education in the Fairmont schools and graduated from Fairmont High School.
After graduation Paul was a janitor and drove school bus for the Halfa School. In 1970 he moved to Long Prairie where he farmed, milked dairy cows and a part time police officer and jailer. In 1989, he moved to Swea City and served as Police Chief until his retirement in 2000. While in Swea City, he was a volunteer fireman, First Responder and served on Our Savior Lutheran Church board. He moved to Graettinger and worked part time at EPS and then drove a special needs bus for the Graettinger School. In his leisure time, Paul enjoyed spending time with Sandy, bowling, golf, playing cards, Minnesota Vikings and fishing.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Graettinger.
Left to cherish Paul's memory are his significant other, Sandy Henderson of Graettinger; son, Steven (Terri) Schwieger of St. Cloud, Minnesota; daughter, T.C. Pierson of Tampa Bay, Florida; grandson, Jason (Tiffany) Schwieger and two great-granddaughters, Bailee and Miyaa.
Preceding Paul in death were grandson, Timothy Schwieger; his parents and sisters, Lorene, Marvis, Leoda and Dorothy and son-in-law, Boyd Pierson.
