Helen A. Pistello

  Helen Ann Pistello, age 93, of Reedsburg, died on Friday, October 9, 2020.  She was born on September 21, 1927 in Chicago, the daughter of William and Helen May.  On May 10, 1947, she was married to James L. Pistello.  They were married for seventy-five years prior to his death.  They enjoyed wintering in Florida for over 30 years.

  Helen worked in a grocery store as a bookkeeper and later as a bank teller.  Following retirement, Helen and Jim lived on Lake Redstone in LaValle, enjoying many happy times with family, friends and neighbors.  The grandchildren were always a big part of the fun!  She loved quilting, gardening, cooking, fishing, boating, and always kept traditions alive for our family.  Helen will also be remembered for sharing her beautiful smile.  She was an active member at Holy Family Catholic Church.  She loved and cared for her family and firmly believed in the power of prayer.

  Survivors include her son: Bill Pistello, of Villa Park, IL; her daughter: Joy Houghton, of Reedsburg; six grandchildren: Michael Pistello, Joseph Pistello, James Taracek and Mindy Georgeson, Joy Marie and Mike Slaven, Spencer and Emma Houghton, and Jacqueline Barr; and four great grandchildren: Jace, Ashton, Wyatt and Stella.  She was preceded in death by her husband: James and her daughter-in-law: Donna Pistello.

  A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Holy Family Catholic Church in LaValle with Father Santus Ibe officiating.  Interment will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery.  There will be a visitation after 10:00 A.M. on Thursday at the church.
