Ruby Aileen (Douthitt) Rash, 88 of Old Broughton Road in Eldorado, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2020, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO., after suffering a stroke. Ruby was born in Tamms, IL, on October 3, 1932, to the late Kanneth Logan “Bob” and Lona May (Earnhart) Douthitt. Ruby was a hard worker and took on a wide range of employment throughout her life; she made ammunition at Olin Mathison during the Vietnam War, she drove a bus for Eldorado school district for 5 years and she was a caregiver. Ruby was member of the Christian Church of Eldorado, IL. Ruby also enjoyed decorating her home and was active with several china and porcelain painting clubs. Ruby remained active and independent right up to the time of her death. Ruby loved her family and spending time with them particularly at Sunday luncheons. On Jan. 23, 1949, in Morganfield, Ky., she married the late Carney Rash Jr. Surviving are two sons, Daryl Rash of Eldorado and Derak (Donna) Rash of Eldorado; two daughters, Regina Cowsert of Harrisburg and Karen Rash Crank of Champaign; 11 grandchildren Rita (Tom) Griffith of Harrisburg, Jeffrey Cowsert of Indianapolis, Ind., Daryl Robert "Robbie" (Mandy) Rash of Eldorado, Dalyn Rash of Rosiclare, Shawn (Trish) Rash of Marion, Kenneth Cody (Miranda Brandsasse)Rash of Eldorado, Shain (Jennifer) Crank of Harrisburg, Michael (Amberle Beal) Crank of Harrisburg, Doug (Brandi) Rash, Nick (Ashley) Rash and Megan Rash-Robershaw all of Eldorado. 22 Great grandchildren including Dustin Coker (Lisa Porter and Drake), Casey (Brandon) Edwards, and Keelan Coker, Chelsea Boggess, Shane Rash, BrookLynn Wright, Trent Rash, MiKayla Rash, and LanDen Rash, Garrett Crank, Mitchell Crank, and Dylan Crank, Isaac Crank, Myles Crank, and Ansley Crank, Maddex Rash, Ethan Omohundro, Avery Rash, Milah Rash, Case Rash, Eli Robershaw and McKenna Robershaw. 7 Great great grandchildren: Kyleigh Coker, Cayden Edwards, Grayson Edwards, and Harrison Edwards, Jeron Boggess, Asher Sturgill and Lincoln Boggess. Ruby had several niece and nephews. She has one surviving sister, Donne Sue Douthitt and two sister’s in law Dorothy “Dot” Drone and Linda O’Neill and a son in laws Chuck Crank. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Hillary Lee “Corky” Douthitt and Kenneth Logan “Kenny” Douthitt. One brother in law Clinton Rash and one sister in law, Eulene Heath and a son in law Leon Cowsert. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 12, 2020 at 10:30 AM at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado with Scott Pilkington officiating. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 11, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
