Delbert Wayne Pratt Obituary

PRATT, Delbert Wayne, 90, of Swartz Creek, passed away October 10, 2020. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. The service will be live streamed and may be viewed by visiting Delbert's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. Interment will follow at Crestwood Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Tuesday, October 13,  and 10-11 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Contributions in Del's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital,  Genesee County Animal Shelter, or the Parkinson's Foundation. 

He was the husband of Doris Irene (Foster) Pratt. Del and Doris shared 70 loving years of marriage together and raised five children, 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Delbert was born, raised and lived his entire life in Swartz Creek. He worked for General Motors (Buick) as an electrician for over 30 years. He also owned and operated Del Pratt Builders and Developers, Inc. for over 50 years. Del served on Mundy Township Planning Commission for several years. Del truly enjoyed building quality custom built homes and spending time mowing on his John Deere tractors. 

Delbert is survived by his wife, Doris Pratt; children, Diana (David) Randall of Naples, FL, Deborah Cramer of Swartz Creek, Dawn (Joe) Genovesi of Gaylord, Denise (Frank) Swyrtek of Swartz Creek, and Dell (Leigh) Pratt of Swartz Creek; daughter-in-law, Michelle Pratt; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Harland Pratt of Fenton and Ira Pratt of Swartz Creek; his loyal pets, Nickie and Abby. 

Del was preceded in death by his parents, Cleon and Louise Pratt; stepmother, Francis Pratt; brother, Herbert Pratt; sister-in-laws, Helen Pratt, Margaret Pratt, and Virginia Pratt; great-grandchildren, Kathryn Randall and Joshua Randall.  Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
