WINSTED – Jean A. Flaherty, 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 9, 2020. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph Flaherty for 58 years. Born on March 9, 1930 in Winsted; the daughter of the late Edward and Edna (Cote) Saunders. Jean worked as a talented Rush seater for Hitchcock Chair in Riverton for 25 + years. She was an avid reader, loved camping and was an avid NY Giants fan. She leaves her two sons, Michael Flaherty and his wife Jennifer of West Hartland and Sean Flaherty of Winsted; her daughter, Kathleen Carfiro and her husband Robert of Colebrook; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Jeffrey Flaherty and Brian Flaherty; and a brother, Ted Saunders. Friends may call on Friday, October 16, 2020 at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted from 10:30 – 11:30 AM with a graveside service to follow at Forest View Cemetery, Winsted at noon.
