Allan George Mosher Obituary

It is with great sadness that we share the sudden passing of Allan George Mosher, in Truro, Nova Scotia. Born November 21st, 1959 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late Robert and Noreen (Henderson) Mosher. Al leaves behind to remember him, dear friend Maryann Tremblay of Truro; beloved daughter Lindsey Mosher (and her mother, Janet); brothers, Graham (Lori) Mosher of New Glasgow, and Robert (Monique) Mosher of Lyons Brook; sisters, Faye (Gerry McClintock) Mosher of Mexico, and Sandra Mosher of British Columbia; nephews Darnell (Wanda) Mosher of Truro, Brad (Desarai) Mosher of New Glasgow, Trevor (Chelsea) Mosher of Stellarton, Tyler (Larissa) Mosher of Alberta; niece, Robin Mosher of New Glasgow; several great nieces and nephews, and friends and former colleagues. Raised between Dartmouth and Pictou County, Al spent time working in the woods before heading to college to train as a machinist, after which he worked with MacGregors Machine Shop followed by a lengthy 30+ year career at Michelin. Throughout his life, and especially upon his retirement, he enjoyed road trips, fishing, and painting (his quiet talent!). Over the years, travelling all over the Maritimes and USA on his Harley took up many of Al’s summers. Al particularly loved road trips and time spent with Maryann and his cat Cheddar. He loved his family dearly, his daughter Lindsey being his greatest love, and treasured every holiday he spent with his brother Graham, his nephews Darnell, Brad, Trevor and their families, who will forever miss his mischievous smile, silliness and sense of humor as a fixture at family gatherings. In his own words ‘I’m sorry, I have to be silly!’ Darnell and Wanda, especially, will miss their regular visits with him in Truro, and his stories - he always had a story to tell. While he could joke and tease his family mercilessly, Al was truly a soft-hearted soul, never leaving a gathering or a conversation with family without saying ‘luv u’ to each of us, and would go out of his way to try to bring a smile to a stranger if he thought they needed it. Someday, Al, we’ll see you again… and we know you’ll greet us (and Cheddar) as if not a day has passed, with a smile and your trademark ‘My name is Al!’ and a quick ‘Luv u guys!’ Cremation has taken place, there will be no visitation by request. A graveside family gathering will take place at a later date. Friends may make a memorial contributions to honor Al’s love of animals and his beloved cat Cheddar, by donating in his name to the Colchester SPCA, or any local cat rescue in Pictou County. Arrangements have been entrusted to the H.W. Angus Funeral Home. www.angusfuneralhomes.com
