Michael G. Ahlff, age 79 years, of Flemington, NJ, died Friday, October 9, 2020, in Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, NJ. Born in Hamburg, Germany, March 24, 1941, son of the late Gert and Kate Krohn Ahlff, he had resided in the Flemington area since1973. A mechanical engineer, he was a purchasing agent and buyer for Merck Corp., until retiring. An avid builder of model airplanes, Michael was a member of the Model Airplane Club of Branchburg, NJ. Michael also enjoyed traveling, the Jersey shore especially Spring Lake, NJ and helping his grandchildren with projects including Soap Box Derby vehicles. Surviving are his wife of twenty-seven years, Silke Kuhl Ahlff; a son, Joseph Ahlff of Phillipsburg, NJ; a daughter, Katherine Ahlff of Ringoes, NJ; a step-daughter, Heidi Jensen of Ringoes, NJ; a step-son Christopher Melrose of Lebanon, NJ; and five grandchildren. Cremation and arrangements are private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
