Ben Joe Williams, 84, of Vancleave, MS, passed away with his family by his side on Thursday, October 8, 2020. Ben was a devoted family man, who enjoyed listening to Gospel music, watching movies starring John Wayne, and eating crab claws at Sassy’s. He was a faithful member of Gautier First Baptist Church for 30 years. Running the roads and vacationing with his daughter- in- law, Kathy, and her sister, Lynn, was also a favorite pastime of his. Ben was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he had served for 15 years. After he was honorably discharged, he worked as an electrician and truck driver. He was a jack of all trades and never hesitated to share that talent with anyone in need. He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Williams; son, Ben Joe Williams, Jr., and brother, Legette Greer. Ben is survived by his sons, Jimmy (Sandy) Williams and Robert (Kathy) Williams; grandchildren, Kathryn (Justin) Humbert, Johnathan (Nikki) Williams, Courtney (Coleman) Martin, Cassidy Williams, Lillian Williams, Evan Williams, Warren (Tonya) Hendrix, Tori (Thomas) Jones, Amanda Williams, and Sally Williams; great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Justin Jr. Humbert, Carley, Luke, and Keegan Williams, Clayton Martin, Chloe, Gwendolyn, and Oliver Jones; and siblings, Relda Barrow and Dixie Williams. A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Moss Point, MS. A private burial will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery on Monday, October 19, 2020.
