Joyce Elaine Richter

<p>Mrs. Joyce Richter of Forney, TX, passed away at her home on Thursday, October 8, 2020.&nbsp; She was born on May 30, 1929, in Robstown, TX to the late Roy Anderson and Lillian Curtis Anderson.</p> <p>Joyce was raised by her mother in the Coastal Bend area of Texas, graduating form Robstown High School in 1946 and Texas A&amp;I College in Kingsville, TX in 1950.</p> <p>She worked at various jobs, but her favorite and most fulfilling was working with the elderly as a caseworker with what was then the Texas Department of Public Welfare.</p> <p>Joyce married Robert Richter in 1970, and they were married until his death in 2019. Together they enjoyed square dancing and traveling by RV.&nbsp; Two of her favorite adventures were to Michigan and Alaska. &nbsp;They also volunteered in different capacities in Tyler, TX.</p> <p>Survivors include her son, Jeff Day and wife Beth; daughters, Freddie Martinka and husband Raymond, and Suzanne Linch; grandchildren, Jacob Martinka and wife Emily, Valerie Davis and husband Sam, Michael, Jenna, Mikaila, and Stephen Linch; and great-grandchildren Oliver and Elliot Martinka.&nbsp; She is also survived by brother Randy Bryant and wife Vickie, special sister-in-law Carolyn Young, brother-in-law Jess Richter, and stepchildren Tom Richter and wife Marta, Kathy Bauer and husband Leo, and Cheri Walker and husband Tom, as well as their families.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers you may send donations to the ASPCA - Jan Rees Jones, 2400 Lone Star Dr., Dallas, Texas 75212.</p> <p>A graveside service for Joyce will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, October 12, 2020 at Sand Springs Cemetery in Mineola, Texas.&nbsp; The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 PM.</p>
