<p>On Thursday October 8th, 2020, David Campbell Rice loving father, husband, and grandfather, passed away surrounded by his family after a brave 9-year battle with cancer. David was born on April 13, 1955 in San Jose CA, to Willard B and Doris L Rice. David lived a happy life and at the age of 19 was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.</p> <p>On March 19, 1977 he was sealed to the love of his life, Virginia L. Smith in the Oakland California Temple for time and all eternity. Together they served in the Salt Lake temple. They raised 5 wonderful children, Christy, Laurin, Dana, Kenny and Kym. Dave relished in his role as a Grandfather to his amazing 13 grandchildren who adored him.</p> <p>David was known for his jokes, quick whit, kind heart and willingness to serve those around him. He cherished his life in California and created a successful career path in the Tech Industry before moving to Utah in 2006. David had a passion for adventure, you could find him flying his airplane, boating, camping, 4-wheeling, white water rafting, and fishing. He was an avid hunter who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends on their ranch in California.</p> <p>He was brilliant and could fix anything. He was known as Mr. Fix it, and spent many hours devoted to his hobby of working on cars. You could often find him playing, watching, or refereeing the many sports he loved.</p> <p>David was proceeded in death by his parents, Willard Bartlett Rice and Doris Lee Rice.</p> <p>David is survived by his Wife, Virginia Rice, Children, Christy (Charlie) Fruits, Laurin (Adam )Smith, Dana (Matthew )Cuevas, Kenny (Amy) Rice, Kymberly (Miguel )Aguirre, and Sisters, Winifred (Mike) Mohr, Lori (Jim) Deerwester , Jenny (Fred) Cliff. 13 Grandchildren.</p> <p>A celebration of life service will be held on Monday October 12, 2020 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. 240 Interlochen Lane, Stansbury Park, UT 84074. A viewing will be held from 9:30 - 10:45am, funeral service will begin at 11am.
