Derrick "Dee" Owens

<p>Derrick Owens, 49, of Livonia, MI passed away October 6, 2020.</p> <p>Derrick Tyrone Owens was born May 26, 1971 to Erma Lee Fields-Owens and William Edwards Owens, who preceded him in death. He was the fourth oldest of five boys. His brother Maurice Lovell Owens also preceded him in death.</p> <p>Derrick accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age and later was a junior deacon at Nehemiah Missionary Baptist Church. He received his education from the Inkster Public School System. He later became a member of Masons King Solomon Temple of Inkster, Michigan in August 2002. He became a DOT truck driver in May 2013 and work diligently in his duties.</p> <p>Derrick was a fun loving, laid-back &ldquo;Gentle Teddy Bear&rdquo; who loved to fish, hunt, cook, have family gatherings and he absolutely loved his YouTube videos and could spend time watching for hours. He enjoyed spending time with his sons and taking Tay to his games and having their &ldquo;after game&rdquo; talk sessions. He adored spending time and playing with his&nbsp; grandbabies. On October 6, 2020 Derrick was called to his final rest with his devoted wife by his side.</p> <p>He leaves to cherish his loving memory and carry on his legacy, his loving and caring wife Wendy Lynn Owens; three sons Nicholas (Chynna) Owens, Tayshawn Owens and Darrius Rogers; two grandchildren Nyah Celestine and Noah Cassiel; three brothers Kenneth &ldquo;Kenny&rdquo; Owens, &nbsp;Robert &ldquo;Bobby&rdquo; Owens and Fallon &ldquo;Deke&rdquo;(Sharmayne) Butler; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; a group of friends as close as brothers &ndash; Colston, &nbsp;Steven, Ant, Amp, Darus, Randy and Craig and countless others that he had a bond with.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
