Mr. Eckles was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and had worked in Advertising for the Houston Chronicle, Pasadena Citzen, Brazosport Facts and the Grapevine Herald. He enjoyed Camping, Hunting, and Fishing, and loved to play dominos (42). He even lied about his date of birth so he could join the Merchant Marines. He is survived by the following: 4 Children Doug Eckles & wife Dana, James E. Eckles, Jr. Robert Eckles, Patricia (Pat) Estes & husband Billy`15Grandchildren. Troy Eckles & wife Brandy, Julie Eckles Zurek & husband Jon, Jenifer L. Berger & husband Gary, Mike Eckles, Bradley Eckles & wife Dawn, Richard T. (Ricky) Eckles, Jessica Cotton, Jennifer Thompson & husband Trey, Rondi Parker & husband James, Aprille Michelle Eckles, James Earl Eckles, Elizabeth Eckles & husband Roy, Dawn Dickinson & husband Carlton, Belinda Estes, Alexis (Katie) Estes. 10 Great Grandchildren, Jacob, Amelia, Cole, Fisher & Eli, Alexis Cheynne, Dylan & wife Jessica, Jessica, Theodore, Isaac, Damian, Zachary, R.
