Evelyn Elizabeth Livingston
Evelyn E. Livingston (nee Dowd) age 93, peacefully passed at home on Monday October 5, 2020. She was the youngest child of James Patrick and Sarah (nee Mc Hugh) Dowd’s 11 children. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Gerald, James, John, Thomas, sisters Eleanor Hawthorne, Kathleen, Margaret, Geraldine, Sister Winifred (IHM), and Helen Flanagan. Evelyn is survived by her loving children Kathleen (Robert) Cucchi, Maureen (Douglas) Moseley, James P. Livingston, John M. Livingston, William E. Livingston (Jill), Timothy J. Livingston and grandchildren Robert Cucchi Jr. (Vanessa), Devon Moseley (Joey Fandel), Kevin Moseley, Patrick M. Livingston, Timothy J. Livingston, Colleen Livingston, and Casey D. Livingston. Evelyn faced her fair share of adversity throughout life. In those times, she relied on her Catholic faith, placing her trust in God to see her through. She faced life’s challenges head on with no excuses. Her greatest achievement was raising her 6 children, who she loved dearly. Evelyn worked as a volunteer for many charitable events over the years. Following retirement, she was active with the Bon Secours’ Ladies Auxiliary where she worked alongside classmates from her grade school days at St Clare. As a lifelong resident of Detroit’s east side, Evelyn never met anyone who did not know “someone” she knew. She was a great conversationalist, loved to socialize, and was a true East Sider. She possessed a quick wit along with an Irish charm and dazzled everyone. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. A Funeral mass will be on Friday October 9, 2020 from 10:00AM until 11:00AM at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 22412 Overlake St, St Clair Shores, MI 48080 In lieu of flowers, donations are asked for St. Jude’s Children Hospital and or the Capuchin Soup Kitchen in Detroit MI.Obituary
