Don Featherston

Donald Ray Featherston, 82, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away October 6, 2020, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born on December 31, 1937, in Greenway, Arkansas, and was the son of Vernal and Nora (Williams) Featherston. Donald was united in marriage to Linda Sue Mobley on November 26, 1959. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Raymond Featherston, Wayne Featherston, Junior Featherston, and JB Featherston; and sisters, Mozella Hinkle, Vonnell Dickerson, and Carlene Scheffler. Don loved to play golf, was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and took great pride in his small garden. He was a devout follower of the Lord and was an active member of the church and the Piggott community. He was a devoted husband and father and his grandchildren were the apple of his eye. Survivors include his wife, Sue Featherston of Piggott, Arkansas; daughter, Melanie Hartman of St. Louis, Missouri; grandchildren, Rachel Hartman and Alec Hartman both of St. Louis, Missouri; brother, James Featherston of Paragould, Arkansas; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 10, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas, with Bro. Chris Brantley, Bro. Kevin Murray officiating. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Tim Boyd, Mark Grubb, Kevin Jones, Trent Holcomb, James Featherston, and Jeff Benbrook. Honorary pallbearers will be Lester Edwards, Vivan Reed, Steve White, Jerry Featherston, David Featherston, and Fred Scheffler.
