Bonnie Maudine True Reach
Bonnie Maudine True Reach, of Weatherford, 91, passed from this life on Tuesday, September 29th, 2020. Bonnie was born on November 12, 1928, in Wichita Falls, Texas to Charles Jesse and Ellen Fay True. During WWII, Bonnie trained as a nurse cadet at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Fort Worth. Upon graduation, she was destined to be a Military Nurse with the rank of Lieutenant. When the war ended in 1945, however, she was almost sent home by the military. Thankfully, they relented and allowed her class to complete their training. She earned her RN in 1946. A couple years later, in July 1948, she married the love of her life, Edward Reach, a sailor who she had been dating during her studies. During their 67 years of marriage, they raised three children in Fort Worth and Grand Prairie, then moved to Alba, Texas after Ed’s retirement. Bonnie made the best out of their retirement years, traveling extensively researching her and her husband’s genealogy in courthouses, libraries, and cemeteries throughout the United States. She was also an early adopter of computers and the Internet, using them to expand her genealogy research. When not traveling, she enjoyed sewing and upholstery, making beautiful creations for her family and friends. She was a lifetime faithful member of the Church of Christ, most recently at North Main COC in Weatherford. Over the years she taught bible classes, helped to host ladies events, monthly member birthday parties and served as a deacon’s wife. In 2012, Bonnie and her husband moved to Weatherford to be closer to their son Charles and his family. She lived long and will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edward, her daughter Janice Ann Reach, and her Granddaughter Valerie. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Alyce Reach and their children, Michael, Sarah and Aaron; her daughter, Deborah and her children, Michael, Mary and Michelle; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Her memorial will take place online and at North Main Church of Christ in Weatherford Texas, on Saturday October 10th, 2020 at 3 PM.Obituary
