Pittaluga, Vittorio It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Vittorio Pittaluga, peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family on May 23, 2017 in his 89th year. Vittorio was a loving husband, father, grandfather "Nonno", great-grandfather "Bisnonno", and a true friend. Beloved husband of Adriana Pittaluga (predeceased). Loving father of daughters Sandra Lamirande and Loretta Pittaluga of Belleville. Cherished grandfather of Michelle (Nick) Hoffsuemmer, Mark (Shannon) Lamirande, Nicole Lamirande, and Victor Pittaluga. Wonderful great-grandfather of Ethan. Dear brother of Luisa Pittaluga and Ugo Pittaluga (predeceased) of Italy. Long-time resident of Batawa, Vittorio worked as a Tool & Die Maker for Bata Footwear. Victor served as a volunteer firefighter for Sidney Township/Quinte West for many years. He contributed greatly to the community being a friend to many and helped with the development of Batawa Ski Hill. He provided his expertise in many areas in the village. He was always lending a helping hand in the community. His legacy began in his heart, with the gift of love and loyalty to his family. His legacy will continue to guide us. Thank you to Dr. Noronha and staff, VON, Care Partners, Hospice, and CCAC for assistance. Together we were able to respect Dad’s wishes to remain peacefully in his home. It was a blessing, an honour, and a privilege to make this possible for a great man who gave so much to others. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Weaver Family Funeral Home - Trenton West Chapel, 170 Dundas St. W. Trenton, from 7 - 9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Church, Batawa, on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 12:30 PM.
