Phyllis Bernice Mangan

Mrs. Phyllis Bernice Mangan of the Pine Lake Area, passed away at her home, on Monday, October 5, 2020 at the age of 88 years, two days prior to her eighty-ninth birthday. Phyllis was born in Turner Valley, Alberta, to Herbert and Hazel Adams. She moved to her farm, in the Pine Lake Area, fifty-eight years ago, where she found her peace and serenity. Phyllis dearly loved her home, her family and her furry friends, and giving treats to Billy, her Pot Bellied Pig. Phyllis loved dancing, from the time she was a little girl, right up into her eighties. She took up curling in her younger years, and after retiring from her career in Accounting, which was her passion, she enjoyed spending time gardening. Phyllis was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 104 for thirty years; was the grounds keeper for the Pine Lake Hub Centre for a few years, and was also a member of the Rural Crime Watch. She also loved traveling with her family to various destinations. Phyllis will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Joanna of Innisfail, Alberta, her son, Randal (Carol) of Devon, Alberta, her son, Lee (Chris) of Penhold, Alberta, her daughter, Betty (Sara) of Innisfail, Alberta and her stepson, John (Kathy) Zimmerman of Raven, Alberta; as well as her ten grandchildren and her eighteen great grandchildren. She will also be lovingly remembered by her sister, Ruth (Gene) Giroux. Phyllis was predeceased by a son, Larry Charles Mangan (1956) and her parents, as well as nine brothers and sisters. A Celebration of Phyllis’s Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No.104, 5108 – 49 Avenue, Innisfail, Alberta on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Log into www.heartlandfuneralservices.com prior to the service for Live Streaming or may be watched at a later date.
