Arlindo Pinto Dracut, Massachusetts Obituary

Arlindo Pinto

Arlindo Pinto, son of the late Luis Pinto and Clotilde Pereira, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2020 surrounded by family. Arlindo, or as everyone knows him, “Pinto” was born on April 17, 1956 in Agrela, Portugal. Being one of nine children, he grew up with a wonderful sense of family and belonging. He brought that feeling with him when he moved to America in 1977, just in time to see the epic blizzard of ’78, which made him promptly want to go back. Luckily for all of us here in the US, he decided to stay. He built a wonderful life here which included making countless friendships and raising a family of his own. He enjoyed marathon cooking days on Sunday and spending countless hours working in his backyard garden (if you didn’t get a chance to tell him how delicious his yellow tomatoes were—he knew!). Some of his best memories were made on the deck of his boat with his great friends pulling up hundreds (maybe even thousands) of mackerel. Most of all, this diehard Porto fan cherished the time he had with his family and friends. Arlindo is survived by his wife of 37 years, Donna, his daughter Melanie and husband Robert Reinhart of Windham, NH, and his three grandchildren Addison, Quinn, and Levi. His brothers José Pereira Pinto and wife Margarida Moutinho of Rio Tinto, Portugal, Abel Pinto and wife Fernanda of Lowell, MA, and Luis Pinto and wife Candida of Lowell, MA. His sisters, Estrelina Moreira of Pelham, NH, Aurora Pinto and husband Carlos Bessa of Matosinhas, Portugal, Rosa Pinto of Sobrado, Portugal, and Irene Pinto of Agrela, Portugal. His sister-in-law Deborah and her husband Kevin Baroni of Billerica, MA and brother-in-law James Connors and companion Michelle Saball of North Reading, MA. Many nieces and nephews as well. He is predeceased by his brother Joaquim Pinto of Agua Longa, Portugal. Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours from 3-7 pm on Friday, October 9th at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut. To ensure the safety of all, social distancing measures will be in place and face coverings kindly required. Funeral Services and Interment will be private. A Celebration of Life will take place in the Spring of 2021.
