Christina P. Frederick Obituary Grosse Pointe Woods resident, Christina P. Frederick, 71, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2020. Christina P. Frederick was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 5, 1948. She was a loving daughter of Philip and Penelope Williams. Christina graduated from Grosse Pointe South in 1966 and graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a B.A. degree in education and history. She taught many years in the St. Clair Shores School District. Christina proudly served as a member of the Bon Secours Nursing Care Auxiliary and volunteered at St. John Hospital. In her spare time, she enjoyed music, sewing, and cooking. Christina was a devout member of Assumption Greek Orthodox Church and the Annunciation Cathedral, sang in the choir in her youth, and was in church every Sunday for the Divine Liturgy throughout her life. As well, Christina was an active member of the Assumption Ladies Philoptochos Society. Christina was the adoring wife of Robert Frederick. They were married in 1992 with all her family, nieces, and nephews serving as wedding attendants. Christina and Robert spent many loving years together. They traveled throughout Europe, North Africa, and Mexico, and enjoyed visiting family throughout the United States, especially her step daughters, Michelle Frederick and Karla Edelman. Christina loved to be with her 13 nieces and nephews. She always had treats for them at home and she enjoyed taking them out for lunches and ice cream. She visited her family in Texas and California as often as she could to spend time with them. She was an extraordinary aunt. She was also the loving godmother to Alexia Vader and to Alexia’s daughter, Penelope. Christina Frederick is survived by her loving husband Robert, her two step-daughters Michelle Frederick and Karla Edelman (Michael) and three step-grandchildren, Matt, Anna, and Lauren. She is also survived by her three sisters, Katherine Kotsis (the late Harry), Georgia Carson (the late George), and Dorothea Williams, her brother, John Williams, 13 nieces and nephews, and 24 great-nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Philip and Penelope Williams and her brother and sister-in-law George and Anne Williams.
