Aa'Lexcia Raynea Edwards Donaldsonville, Louisiana Obituary

Aa'Lexcia Raynea Edwards

Obituary On October 8, 2001, a perfect gift entered the world and she would be named Aa’Lexcia (“Lex”) Raynea Edwards. Determined, strong willed, and supportive are but a few words that adequately define the young lady that Lex would grow to become. She could always be found with an infectious smile and plenty of love to give. She embodied the meaning of loyalty, strength, and what many would come to know her as, an academic “go-getter”! Lex was a hardworking honor graduate of the Donaldsonville High School Class of 2020 and shift manager at RaceTrac in Gonzales, La. She loved God and was a believer of Jesus Christ. She intently believed Matthew 6:9-13 which states, “After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.” Lex was responsible and enjoyed caring for her family and friends. She shared secrets and laughed often with her big sister Tyrianna and protectively watched over her little brother Dee’Qwendius and sister Chance. She loved her grandmother, Joann, dearly and was her mother’s biggest confidant. She showed up with love and was always willing to share. Although Lex was called from this world on September 30, 2020 at the tender age of 18, her memory lives on through those she left behind and those who will continue living their lives in a manner that honors her legacy and demonstrates that her time here --was not in vain. Lex wanted the world to know about the power of God in her life as she published a heartfelt testimony as follows: “First I want to give a shout out to the Almighty God himself. I always ask myself where would I be if I didn't have God in my life as a factor. I can honestly say he has made things possible in my life that I thought wasn’t possible”..... Aa’Lexcia leaves to cherish her memories: her mother, Terrika Edwards; her father, Alonzo Bell; her sisters Tyrianna and Chance Edwards; her brother, Dee’Qwendius Edwards; her grandmother, Joann Butler; her grandfathers, Joseph Edwards and Alphonso Massey; godmother, Alecia Bell; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Clarence Bell, Sr. and Laura Mae Bell; great-grandmother, Ida Mae Butler; and great-grandfather, Joseph Butler, Sr.
