Hazel Leewynn Hodges Obituary

Leewynn Entrekin Hodges, 84, passed away at her home in Vancleave, MS on Saturday morning, October 3, 2020. Mrs. Hodges was born in Biloxi, MS, on May 30, 1936 to the late F. Lee Entrekin and Hazel Barnes. Leewynn spent the greater part of her life in Ocean Springs, MS where she was a member of many organizations, including many years working for the City of Ocean Springs and the State of Mississippi in the hospitality industry. Leewynn was a highly accomplished birdwatcher and horticulturalist and had a wonderful rapport with the wildlife that visited her backyard. She enjoyed sharing her knowledge with those who were fascinated by nature. Mrs. Hodges was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Malcolm F. "Bud" Hodges and brother Ronald Lee Entrekin. Survivors include her step-children, Malcom Hodges, Jr, and Victoria Hodges both of Atlanta, Georgia; sisters Helen Fletcher and Linda (Brian) Ellis of Vancleave, MS. Many beloved nieces and nephews who were as daughters and sons to her. The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation for the loving care given to Leewynn by Hospice of Light, especially Donna and Shonda, and Chaplain Loren Robinson. Interment will take place with a private graveside service at Evergreen Cemetery in Ocean Springs, MS.
