Fay Audrey Younker

Hancock, Maryland

Fay Audrey Younker, age 94, passed away on September 30, 2020, in Hancock, Md.

Born July 12, 1926, in Pecktonville, Md., she was the daughter of the late John V. and Hazel V. (Shives) Younker; and the widow of Arnold L. Younker, who passed away on January 13, 2018.

Fay was a substitute School Teacher in Washington County, Maryland for twenty-three years.  Her students all called her “Grandma.”

She loved to visit with her friends; garden; and scrapbook. The family wishes to give a special “thank you” to her best friend, Shirley Cubbage, and Scott and Dave Creek.

She was a member of the Parkhead United Methodist Church, in Big Pool, Md.  She was also a member of the Hancock Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary for over fifty years.

Fay is survived by a son, Kevin A. Younker, of Hancock; a brother, Bruce Onal Younker, of Hagerstown, Md.; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Fay was preceded in death by brothers, Donald A. Younker, Herbert E. Younker, Willard A. Younker, and Gary Younker.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 5, 2020, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock.

Funeral services will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Parkhead Cemetery. Pastor Becki Wessinger will officiate.
