Obituary
Emilie C Stoddart passed peacefully in her home on Monday, September 21, 2020. She was born on January 5, 1930. It was her wish not to have a service or an obituary. She left instructions that if she was to have an obituary, it should read: She was born. She lived. She died.
Well, Emilie was more in life than that. In the words of a late admirer, she was a snappy dresser and a great conversationalist. She had a fantastic sense of humor – which at times could be quite crass!. She also had a bit of a potty mouth - which usually happened during meal times. Emilie was much like her grandmother, Nana, before her - a wonderful storyteller & keeper of family histories. She could also be quite prickly which she came by naturally through her maternal side of the family. Emilie, , known as Nana, was very proud of her granddaughters and fiercely adored her great granddaughter!
Emilie was predeceased by her husband and the love of her life, Alexander N Stoddart. She leaves behind her daughter, Melissa S Davis, her granddaughters, Brittan T C Davis, Amory D Gray, her great granddaughter, Lumi F Davis MacLean and her sister, Susan Eyre Schlesinger.
It was Emilie’s wish not to have a service. Instead, a small family gathering will be held next the spring in Sugar Hill next to her husband, Alexander N Stoddart. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the animal shelter of your choice. Assisting Emilie’s family was the Morris Funeral Home of Ipswich.
