Funeral services for Vera Inez Howie, 90, of Start, LA were held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 4, 2020 at Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA with Bro. Craig West officiating. Interment followed in the Mulhearn Memorial Park, Monroe, LA.

Mrs. Vera was born June 6, 1930 in Crowville, LA and passed away Thursday, October 1, 2020 in Start, LA after a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Howie was a member of the Start Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Eddie Howie; parents, Mark and Lula Robinson; brothers, Dewey Robinson and Johnnie Robinson; sister, Verbie Wright; and her grandson, Lyndon Howie.

Survivors include her children, Susan Guthrie and husband, Robert of Start and Glenn Howie and wife, Connie of Crowley, LA; grandchildren, Gary Tyree, Glen Howie, Jr., Hope Howie Odom and husband, Joseph, and Abigail Howie Scripture and husband, Connor; great grandsons, Logan Tyree and Joseph Odom, Jr.; and her niece, Sandra Roberts and husband, Miland.

Pallbearers were Gary Tyree, Glen Howie, Jr., Joseph Odom, Connor Scripture, Logan Tyree, and Miland Roberts.

The family would like to give special thanks to Toni, Philip, Cheryl, Craig, and Rita from Caring Hands Hospice. Mrs. Vera loved her Hope Sunday School Class at Start Baptist Church and playing Pokeno with her special friends at her Pokeno Group.
