Hunter Tate Ashcroft, Poultney: Hunter Tate Ashcroft, age 20, passed away sudden and unexpectedly, Tuesday Sept 29,2020 at his home. Hunter was born in Rutland, September 20, 2000 to Karl and Lorrie Ashcroft. He attended Poultney from Preschool til Graduation. He was a second year student at Castleton University for Criminal Law, where he was on the Dean's List. Hunter was an avid animal lover and gamer. He loved playing online games and in person with his family and friends. Hunter had a heart of gold and would always make everyone laugh. He was always the first person to make you laugh or just be there if you needed a ear to listen or a shoulder to cry on. Hunter was the light in the darkness that will be greatly missed. He is survived by his parents, Karl and Lorrie Ashcroft of Poultney, his sister and her partner, Heather Tate and Kris Lubinsky, and his nephews Thachary Tate, Gideon Lubinsky and Emerson Lubinsky of Poultney, his paternal grandparents Dr Richard and Linda Ashcroft of Moncks Corners, SC, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother Anne Freeley of Poultney. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Vermont Spay Neuter Incentive Program (VSNIP), PO Box 104, Bridgewater, VT 05034.
