Elsie Elizabeth Beck Obituary

Elsie Elizabeth Beck, age 94 years, died Sunday, September 27, 2020, at Whitehall Manor in Whitehall PA. Born November 11, 1925, in Erwinna PA, Elsie was the daughter of the late Hugh L. and Elizabeth (Wampfler) Weaver. Elsie was always involved in the Frenchtown community, whether serving as Dog Warden, a lunch aide for Edith Ort Thomas Elementary School, or with the Ladies Auxiliary. But most of all, she loved animals. She always had companion dogs and cats, and every day would feed her backyard deer, raccoons and birds. She would often nurse injured or abandoned wildlife back to health, including skunks, squirrels, raccoons, and even a great horned owl. Elsie loved all animals, loved to care for them and loved spoiling any dog lucky enough to visit her. She also enjoyed tending to the many gardens she kept with her husband of 74 years, George. In addition to her parents, Elsie was predeceased by her husband, George Raymond Beck in 2018, her three brothers, Walter, Robert and Norman Weaver, as well as her great-grandson, Scott Beck in 2016. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Teddy G. and Sharon Beck of Milford NJ, her two grandsons and their spouses, Chris and Willow Beck of Easton PA, Kevin and Justina Beck of Catasauqua PA, her two step-granddaughters, Sherri and Art Gotthardt of Orlando FL, and Tamara Walton and her partner, Greg, of Worthington MO, as well as her four great-grandchildren, Matthew and Jadalyn Beck and Elisabeth and Abigail Walton. Memorial services, officiated by the Rev. Michael Atzert, will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington NJ. Interment will follow at Frenchtown Cemetery. Calling hour will be Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
