Jose “Joe” Garcia, age 85, of Waxahachie, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2020 at Methodist Hospital in Mansfield, Texas. He was born February12, 1935 in Brady, Texas to Henry Garcia and Ynez Gomez. He married Elvira De los Santos on November 27, 1953 in Junction, Texas. Joe loved to travel, he competed in BBQ contests and loved to fish. He enjoyed dancing and had his own table and parking spot at The Kountry Klub in Midlothian. He also loved going to the Casino where he played the slots. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family and loved ones. Survivors include his children, Guadalupe Alba Mantyla, Carmel Castillo Flores and husband Paul, Jane Vender and husband Ken, Rose Burchfield and husband Jack and Joe Garcia, Jr. and wife Pam; grandchildren, Amanda, Brian, Melissa, Jeremy, Joshua, Jodan, Logan, Tyler, Jennifer, Jeffrey, Michelle, Andrea, Aaron and Aric; 20 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; one sister, Mikela Vadez and numerous nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 57 years, Elvira De los Santos Garcia; son, Jimmy and numerous siblings. Visitation for family and friends will be 6 – 8pm Monday, October 5, 2020 with Rosary at 7pm in the chapel of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2pm Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Louis Chijioke celebrant. Arrangements are under the direction of Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home, 511 West Main Street, Waxahachie, Texas.
