Patricia May Chechlowski (nee: White); age 76; passed away September 29, 2020 following a courageous 5-year battle with multiple myeloma. Patricia was born in Detroit on February 8, 1944. Pat attended John Gardner Elementary School, Mackenzie High School, and Wayne State University. She worked as a teller at the Bank of the Commonwealth and then as an office manager at Blue Cross Blue Shield. Pat is survived by her husband of 52 years Garry Chechlowski; her brother Richard (Colleen) White; brother-in-law Dennis (Gail) Chechlowski; sister-in-law Sharon (Mac) McGinnis; nieces and nephews David (Lori) White, Kevin (Kallie) Chechlowski, Kevin (Karen) White, David (Sabra) McGinnis, Elizabeth (John) Worthington, Michael (Janet) McGinnis; and 12 great-nephews and nieces. Pat was preceded in death by her sister Jean Ochadleus. Proud of her Irish heritage and spurred on by her love of traveling, she made two trips to Ireland to meet her relatives. Because of her Polish heritage, Pat could always be seen dancing a Polka at every wedding. She enjoyed shopping, playing cards, the challenge of jigsaw puzzles, and sending greeting cards for every holiday and occasion. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She treated all of her nieces and nephews as her own children and spoiled them regularly. Pat was loved by family and friends and will be deeply missed by all. She was the epitome of love! A memorial gathering and service will take place Wednesday October 7, 2020 at The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, the Allen Park chapel, at 10915 Allen Rd. Allen Park, MI 48101. The memorial gathering for friends and family will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the evening with the memorial service at 6 p.m. To those attending visitation and/or services for a loved one, in keeping with State of Michigan Executive Orders 2020-110 and 2020-147, masks and social distancing along with limitations on number of person(s) in the chapel must be followed and will be enforced.
