Jody A. Moseley Obituary

Rosary services are scheduled for 6:00 P.M. Friday, Oct. 2, 2020 in the St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, 15501 S. Memorial Dr., Bixby. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, Oct. 3, also at St. Clement. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Jody Agnes Moseley was born December 10, 1941, in Harlingen, TX, and passed away on September 30, 2020, at the age of 78 in Owasso, OK. She was the daughter of mother Corrine Bedner Hencerling and father Andrew Bedner, whom she lost at a young age. She was reared, along with her two sisters, Shirley and Rosemary, by her mother and stepfather, Edwin Hencerling. Jody graduated from St. Edward’s Catholic High School in Dallas, Texas. After graduation, she met the love of her life, Carl Moseley. They were married in September of 1962 and made their home in Irving, Texas. There they welcomed four children: Carla, Cristi, Carrie, and Vincent. Soon after their fourth child arrived, they moved to Oklahoma. After a short stay in Oklahoma City, they landed in Bixby, Oklahoma, where they lived for more than 40 years. Jody and Carl celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on September 1 of this year. Jody was a devout Catholic and long time member of St. Clement’s Catholic Church in Bixby, Oklahoma. Her faith in Christ was the center of her life. Through her example, her four children, ten grandchildren, and those around her learned to be grateful for God’s blessings and to rely on Him in times of adversity. She always cared for those suffering around her, and once stopped everything to buy groceries for a homeless man she saw on the street. She prayed incessantly for the needs of all and trusted always in the Lord’s mercy. Jody was an incredible woman, and no words will ever properly do her justice. Jody was an exceptional wife and mother. She took great pride in her children and grandchildren, and often said they were her greatest contribution to this world. She possessed a keen instinct for trouble, suffered no nonsense, spoke volumes with her eyes, and had incredible aim with her shoes. Her sharp intellect was matched only by her wit: If she said, “Well, bully for you,” you knew your argument was done. She also loved spending time with her family and friends, who were often treated to her witty sense of humor, delicious cooking, and direct, yet compassionate guidance. She had many talents, but her greatest passion was art. Through self-teaching, Jody became an accomplished wildlife artist, winning many awards and honorable mentions at various art shows, including the United States Duck Stamp contest. She loved all of nature, but had a special talent and affinity for birds and horses. She also painted a portrait of St. Jude that hangs in the chapel of Saint Anne’s Catholic Church in Broken Arrow—a comforting legacy to her family. Jody was sincere and loving and she will be missed dearly by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband Carl Moseley of Bixby, Oklahoma, daughters Carla Crockett and Rodney Crockett (husband) of Owasso, OK, Cristi Tenant and Tory Tenant (husband) of Dorchester, TX, Carrie Fatigante and Jim Fatigante (husband) of Tulsa, OK, son Vincent Moseley and Lori Torbett (partner) of Bixby, OK, grandchildren Christine Crockett, Kathryn Crockett, Kaiden Roberson, Cole Perryman, Luke Perryman, Anthony Fatigante, Callie Moseley, Nicholas Fatigante, Kannon Moseley, Landon Moseley, and Brody Tenant, sisters Shirley and Joe Farley (husband) and Rosemary and Tom Fulkerson (husband), and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Andrew John Bedner of Harlingen, TX, and her mother Corrine Agnes Prather Bedner Hencerling of Dallas, Texas.
