James M. Gachet Obituary

James M. Gachet passed away on October 1, 2020 of COVID. Yes, there were serious underlying wicked diseases but it was COVID that ended the life of this farmer and family man. They say “God looked down from heaven on his planned paradise and said, “I need a caretaker,” SO GOD MADE A FARMER. James took on the role as caretaker seriously so “Close the Gate, one last time for the life of this farmer is over”. James was preceded in death by his parents, James. W (Jamie) and Frances (Frankie) Gachet and several brothers and sisters. Survived by his “favorite girls”, Gail, Peggy (Tom Rau) and Diane (Les Cheveldayoff). James loved his grandchildren Barrett Russell (CorieBeth, great grandchildren Sophia and Carter), Kyanne Chambers (Chad, great granddaughter Ava Claire), Brian Rau from Orange Park FL, Leslie, Leah and Jamie Cheveldayoff of Orlando, FL. He is also survived by one sister, Ann Louise Bowden (Charles). Numerous nieces, nephews and children of friends will remember the time they spent with Uncle James on his farm The family is comforted to know God has one more caretaker for heaven’s crops and critters. The only thing James loved more than seeing the fruits of his labor was God, his church and his family. “We thank God for giving us a God-Fearing Father”. A memorial service for family will be held at a later date in Dothan with graveside at Pea River Presbyterian Church in Louisville, AL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Providence Baptist Church, Clanton, AL 35046. Marin Funeral Home Directing. You may leave online condolences for the family on the guest registry at www.martinfuneralhomeinc.com.
