Penny Ann Cooper

Penny passed away on September 30, 2020 at her home in Apache, Oklahoma at the age of 70. Penny was born on May 21, 1950 in Kaufman, Texas. She graduated from Kaufman High School. She loved her grandkids, raising cattle, and fishing. Penny was a proud military wife while married to her first husband, Christopher Cooper. They were stationed all over the world but finally settled in Oklahoma. She wore many hats in her lifetime, from driving a military bus to coaching softball to working at the juvenile detention center to opening an ice cream/movie store to farming. She could do it all. Penny is survived by her husband, Bruce Whitfield, of the home; her 2 daughters: Karen and her husband Greg Edwards and Candace Reed, all of Apache; 1 stepdaughter, Diana Drown and her husband Josh, of Apache; 7 grandchildren: Sarah, Lily and Logan Edwards, Ace Reed, Suton Paulson, and Case Bob and Jessica Drown. Penny was preceded in death by her parents: Afton and Mary Wright.
