Blake Arden Thibodeau Brewer, Maine Obituary

Blake Arden Thibodeau

<p>Blake Arden Thibodeau, 92, passed away September 28, 2020, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 15, 1928, in Carroll, ME the son of Ralph A. and Pauline G. (Blanchard) Thibodeau. Blake attended Lee Academy and then served his country in the U. S. Navy, stationed aboard the USS Randolph and received an Honorable Discharge. He was a member of the Rising Sun Lodge #71 A.F. &amp; A.M. of Orland, Anah Shrine, and Square Dance Clubs. Blake worked for A &amp; P as a butcher for 37 years and also was a Maine Guide and Sport Camp Outfitter. Those who had the privilege of meeting Blake would soon become an immediate friend. His love of country, family, and God was his compass in life. He would accept a handshake as a person’s bond of character but beware of pranks. We will be greatly missing his sense of humor, strength, integrity and the bean-hole beans. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Dolores J. (Moore) Thibodeau; a son, Bruce Thibodeau and wife Gail; a daughter, Lorraine Bloodsworth and husband Kenneth; a sister, Charlotte Eberbach; grandchildren, Quinn Thibodeau, Michael Thibodeau, Hilary Thibodeau, Matthew Milliken, Brian Milliken, Shawn Bloodsworth; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Jeanine Milliken; and siblings, Avis Danforth, Garth Thibodeau and Helen Taylor. Friends may call from 5-7 PM, Friday, Oct. 2, at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, where the officers and members of the Rising Sun Lodge #71 will conduct a Masonic Service at 6:30 PM. Graveside funeral services will be held 3 PM, Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Union Cemetery, Dedham. Please be mindful of others by practicing social distancing, wearing a face covering, staff will be conducting contact tracing and be aware that the number of people allowed in the building at one time is limited. Gifts in Blake’s memory may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, C/O Anah Shrine Center, 1404 Broadway, Bangor, ME 04401.
