William “Bill” Edward Westmoreland, 69, of Richmond, Virginia was with family when he went to see the Lord on September 27, 2020 at Chippenham Hospital, Richmond Virginia. Bill was born the 29th of June 1951 in Richmond, Virginia. He was the son of Wilbur and Catherine Westmoreland. Bill went to George Wythe High School, was involved in the ROTC program and graduated with the class of 1970. Bill married the love of his life January 12, 1985 and they spent the next 36 years building a wonderful life together. During his life Bill had many successful careers ranging from a cross country truck driver, a well-known brick and stone mason and spent the later of his life as a successful small business owner in the building maintenance field. In 1997 Bill became a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. In 2006 he became a member of Lakeside Moose Lodge #1714 where he was awarded his fellowship degree and received his lifetime membership. During his tenure at Lakeside, he sat on the board and had many titles. He was 2 time Legion Chairman, 2 time Governor and Treasurer. In 2015 Bill added his dual membership to the Chesterfield Lodge #1980. If you ask 100 people who Bill was they would say: he was a great storyteller (albeit long winded), he was a terrific friend, son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a great mentor and loved sharing his knowledge with everyone, especially his children. He loved his family and gave them everything he had. Bill immensely enjoyed going to the Moose Lodge and seeing his friends every week. He lived life to the fullest. He will be truly missed by all. Bill is survived by his wife of 36 years, Liz; his brother, Joe; his children, Charlie, Michael, David, Paula and Mandy; and more importantly his grandchildren, Blaine, Haley, Jonathan, Danielle, Ryin, Natalie, Abbey, Riggs and Zaine; and great-grandchildren, Dylan and Hazelle. Bill is also lovingly survived by his Moose Family and his many lifelong friends. Too many to name... The family invites all to join us at his Loyal Order of Moose Service of Tribute to be held on Thursday October 1, 2020 at 7pm at the Lakeside Moose Lodge located at 1207 Hilliard Rd.
