Jackie Ronald Walker Loveland, Colorado Obituary

Jackie Ronald Walker

Jack Walker, 81, of Loveland Colorado passed away on September 25, 2020, at Aspen House Assisted Living in Loveland. Jack was born May 9th of 1939 in Windsor Colorado to Henry and Katherine Walker. Jack was one of four kids and grew up in Windsor, graduating high school from Windsor High. As a child, he was described as a “Dennis the menace” and known for being a bit ornery. Some of his fondest memories were shared with buddies exploring the bluffs of Windsor, horseback riding, swimming, and flying model airplanes. He loved animals from the time he was a small child through adulthood. His childhood crush on the girl down the alley became his lifelong love, Sandy. They met in bible school as young children and officially began dating when Jack was a senior in High School. In 1963 they married, moving to Loveland two years later. In 1967, Jack sold his favorite red ’62 Corvette to put down the payment on their new house. In that home, they were blessed to raise two children, Jeff and Jill. He is remembered as being a loving father who was actively involved in the lives of his children. He loved to play games and have fun with his kids. Out of high school he worked for 10 years at the Great Western Sugar Company, before starting a 30-year career at Hewlett Packard, retiring at 56. Those close to Jack knew he was a collector of antiques and other cool finds. He definitely had a trained eye for finding the bargains and could be found regularly at garage sales almost every weekend. Another hobby of his was collecting cars. Having had over 100 cars in his lifetime, a few of his favorites were a ‘41 Ford Convertible that he “hopped up”, his ’62 red Corvette, a 2000 Plymouth Prowler and a ’32 Roadster. Jack will be remembered for his sense of humor. He loved to tease those he most wanted to make laugh. People who knew Jack would say that he was lucky. He was. He was lucky in life, to have loved and to have been loved. He was adored by his wife, children and friends. Jack is preceded in death by his father (Henry Walker), his mother (Katherine Walker), his two brothers (Earl and Leroy), his wife Sandra (2000), and his son Jeff (1987). Jack is survived by his sister Nancy and daughter Jill. Condolences may be sent to Viegut funeral home. In lieu of memorials, donations can be made to the Larimer County Humane Society in Jack’s name.
