Marjorie J. Lewis

 Marjorie J. Lewis of Parker, Colorado passed away peacefully at home on September 29, 2020. Marjorie was born in Beatrice, Nebraska where she grew up and helped with the family farm. After graduating high school, Marjorie spent her early adult years teaching in a one-room country schoolhouse in Nebraska while she pursued a degree in education. After marrying David Lewis in 1964, they moved to Waukegan, Illinois where she continued to teach elementary school and gave birth to eldest daughter, Lisa (Lewis-Hicks) and identical twin daughters, Dawn (Fredrickson) and Denise (Kuntz). In 1969, Marjorie and family moved to Denver where she continued to be involved with education while expanding the family with two more children; daughter, Valerie (Lewis) and son, Darren (Lewis).

Marjorie and family moved to Parker, Colorado in 1976. Marjorie enjoyed living in the country where she spent countless hours decorating her home with antiques, gardening and building a hobby farm consisting primarily of Nubian dairy goats. One of Marjorie’s favorite past-times was attending dairy goat shows throughout Colorado and being actively involved in the kids’ 4-H clubs.

Marjorie worked at and retired from the Safeway store in Parker. Marjorie was a fabulous cook and baker and loved nothing more than to cook and bake for her family, grandchildren, and friends. She cherished the years spent with her grandchildren in Minnesota and Colorado attending their sporting events (baseball, softball, volleyball, basketball, and karate). Marjorie lived for her family and grandchildren and always looked forward to family gatherings, especially the recent summer trips to the Colorado mountains.

Marjorie was an avid Pinochle player and loved playing cards with her friends at the Parker Senior Center. She was also a Colorado Rockies fan and spent many hours watching baseball games.

Marjorie was a nurturing and loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She touched the hearts of so many and made a positive impact on everyone who knew her.  She amazed everyone with her strength and many talents. Marjorie was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.

Marjorie is preceded in death by former husband (David Lewis), sister (Judine Parks), and daughter (Lisa Lewis-Hicks). Marjorie is survived by her sister (Marlene Wilkins), brother (Dennis Siems), remaining children: Dawn (and husband Eric), Denise (and husband Tim), Valerie, Darren, and grandchildren (Lindsey, Jacob, Adam Kuntz and Katelyn Fredrickson).
