Graveside services and interment for Mr. Robert "Elden" Stanton, age 83 of Cookeville, will be held Wednesday, September 30th at 3:00 p.m. at Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Bro. Carl Stiglich, Sr. will officiate. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Mr. Stanton died Sunday September 27, 2020 at NHC of Cookeville. He was born June 13, 1937 in Buffalo Valley, TN to the late Cecil Allen and Eva Odelle Bockmon Stanton. He was a graduate of Lebanon High School and earned a bachelor's degree in History from Tennessee Tech University. Mr. Stanton was employed as a ticket agent with Trailways Bus Lines. In more recent years, he was a longtime resident at Morningside Assisted Living in Cookeville and was a former president of the residence council at the facility. He was a talented musician and enjoyed playing the electric bass guitar. He was of the Methodist faith. He is survived by cousins, Jimmy Stanton, Robert Sadler, Ernest Sadler, Houston Stanton and James Eddie Stanton. Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (931)526-6111.
