Barbara was born December 13, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois and went to be with the Lord September 24, 2020 In Marietta, Georgia at the age of 78. She was the daughter of Webster and Mary Gamble who are deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband Henry Ward and her brother Webster”Fred” Gamble Jr. Barbara Ward was a decorated and accomplished teacher for more than 30 years for Faraday Elementary of Chicago Public Schools. She was a devoted and faithful member of Trinity United Church of Christ as well. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and cousin and will be sorely missed. The world will be a little darker without her. Barbara’s hobbies were dancing as she loved to “step”, movies, calligraphy, and listening to “oldies”, especially Smoky Robinson. She leaves to mourn two sons Christopher B Ward and Tobi L. Ward, daughter-in-law Camishar D. Ward, sister Linda R. Walls, two grandchildren Brooklynn G. Ward and Ava S. Ward, and many cousins, relatives and friends. No public services are scheduled at this time. There will be a memorial service in Chicago in the near future.
