Linda M. Manyen Bay City, Michigan Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend went home to be with her Lord Monday, September 28, 2020 with her family by her side. Age 75. Linda was born August 19, 1945 in Pigeon, Michigan to the late Vincent and Grace (Rounds) Freeman. On October 16, 1971 she married the love of her life Melvin Manyen and he predeceased her on June 24, 2004. Linda was a devoted and passionate Registered Nurse of more than 50 years, starting her career with Dr. Gilmore in Merrill, Michigan. She would later make a change and go to work for Bay Osteopathic Hospital, Samaritan Hospital, Bay Medical Center as a crisis and mental health nurse and then Saginaw Geriatrics where she met her dear friend Marsha Hernick. Linda was a faithful member and lecture at Our Lady of Peace Parish-St. Mary’s Church. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and her St. Mary’s nursing crew. Linda is survived by her son Patrick M. (Tori) Manyen, one granddaughter Katlin (Joe) Garza, and three great grandchildren: Ian, Amara and Analia Garza, siblings: Dwight (Jackie) Freeman, Douglas (Jana) Freeman, Peggy (Mike) Heintz, Daniel Freeman and Susann Freeman, many nieces, nephews, cousins, nursery mate and lifelong friend Janice Foster. Linda was predeceased by three nephews: Christopher Heintz, Andrew Rowe and Steven Manyen and a good friend Therese. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, October 2, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Peace Parish-St. Mary’s Church, 607 E. South Union Street, Bay City, MI 48706. Fr. John Sarge and Deacon Ken Kochany will celebrate Mass and private interment will be held at a later date in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at Squires Funeral Home on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM and at church on Friday after 10:00 AM. Those who plan on attending visitation at the funeral home or the funeral Mass must wear a face mask or face covering and follow the Social Distancing guidelines currently in place. You may also be asked to wait outside due to capacity limits. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Cancer Treatment Centers of America. www.squiresfuneralhome.com
