Judy Ann Rue passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2020. Born in Miles City, Montana on June 6, 1943 to W.W. (Bill) and Gladys Trusler. She grew up on the Trusler ranch east of Ashland, Montana. She attended school at Willow Crossing, Ashland public school, and Custer Country High School in Miles City. On June 20, 1959 she married her high school sweetheart Victor Robert Rue of Broadus, Montana. Judy and Victor attended college at Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana. While living in Bozeman Judy and Victor had 3 children, Sundi Jan, Kebi Lynn, and Lloyd Huntington. After college she and Victor returned to the Rue family ranch where they worked the ranch together and raised their 3 children until 1968. In 1971 Judy and Vic purchased McLeod Resort. Here they raised their three children and had fourth child Courtney Erin. Judy and Vic put much love into operating and maintaining McLeod Resort. Judy loved to cook and plant her flowers in the spring and keep of all of her flower gardens throughout the summer at McLeod. When not operating McLeod or working as Postmaster, Judy loved to snowmobile, 4-wheel, travel, and attend her grandchildren's activities. She also enjoyed having the whole family home at McLeod on the holidays. Judy welcomed all into her home and no one was a stranger. The spring of 2020 saw Judy and Vic purchase a house in Big Timber, Montana. Here Judy made a new home for herself and Vic. Judy was preceded in death by her parents W.W. And Gladys Trusler and her brother Billy Trusler. Judy is survived by her husband Vic, children, Sundi Jan Beltz (Mike) grandchildren Jens Andersen (Kristen) and great grandchildren Daela, Jay, and Andrew, Jim Andersen (Stephanie) and great grandchild Mack and granddaughter Taylor Beltz; Kebi Lynn Smith (Terry) grandchildren Justin (Megan) Smith and Kelsey Smith; Lloyd Huntington Rue (Kathy) grandchildren Austin Rue and Dayton Rue; Courtney Erin Rue (Jennifer) grandchildren Molly Ann Rue, Ella Priscilla Rue, Destan, Logan and Caitlin and her many “adopted” children. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sweet Grass Country Recreation Association, Sweet Grass County Cancer Alliance, or the Hearts and Hands Hospice of Big Timber.
