Linda L. King

Linda L. King, 78, of Salisbury, passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional. Born on March 14, 1942 in Springfield, MO, she was the daughter of the late Vern and Bernice Matthews. Linda graduated from Wicomico High School in 1960 and then attended Salisbury Teachers College. She dedicated her 25-year career to Maryland National/Bank of America before she retired in 1999. As a member of Asbury United Methodist Church for over 50 years, she proudly served on multiple committees including the Altar Guild. She also volunteered her time as a Member Volunteer Plus at Tidal Health Peninsula Regional (PRMC) and the Junior Board Auxiliary. Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Avery C. King and a brother, James L. Matthews. She is survived by her three sons, Michael A. King and his wife, Tammy, Gary C. King and Laura and Jeffrey D. King; five granddaughters, Nicole Gebhardt and her husband, Timothy, Chelsea Tyler and her husband, Cranston, Bridget King, Bernadette King, and Courtney King; a grandson, Sean King; a step granddaughter, Kaitlyn Fitzhugh; three great granddaughters, Avery Gebhardt, Evelyn Gebhardt, and Fiona Tyler; a step great grandson, Emmett Decker; niece Valerie Kaye; and a brother in law, William King and his wife, Joan. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at 12:30pm at Asbury United Methodist Church. A visitation will be held from 11:30 am to 12:30pm. Interment will follow the service at Wicomico Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Linda’s honor to Asbury United Methodist Church, 1401 Camden Ave., Salisbury, MD 21801.
