<p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>George Martin Jacks, age 82 of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at the Hillcreek Nursing Home in Louisville, Kentucky.&nbsp; Born in Winfield, Tennessee on November 21, 1937, he was the son of the late James Carl and Nola Belle Taylor Jacks.&nbsp; George retired from a long career with IBM, was a member of the New Light Baptist Church, an Honorable Kentucky Colonel, and served in the United States Army.</strong></p> <p><strong>In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Bess Jacks; brother Dan Jacks; sister June Carter; nephew Carl Jacks.</strong></p> <p><strong>Survived by his son George &ldquo;Marty&rdquo; Jacks, Jr., daughter Michele L. Wilson and husband Darrell; grandchildren: LeeAnn Jacks, Darrell Wilson, Jr., Nick Wilson, George &ldquo;Trey&rdquo; Jacks III, Alexis Wilson, and Zachary Wilson; brother-in-law Jack Carter; sister-in-law Lori Jacks; special friend Hazel Bowling of Robbins; many other relatives and friends.</strong></p> <p><strong>Friends may visit with the Jacks family on Saturday, October 3, 2020 from 1 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Jones &amp; Son Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Fultz officiating.&nbsp; Music will be provided by the New Light Singers.</strong></p> <p><strong>Committal service will follow in the Hazel Valley Memorial Cemetery in Oneida with full Military Honors conducted by the American Legion Post #136 of Oneida.&nbsp; Serving as pallbearers will be: Darrell Wilson, Darrell Wilson, Jr., George &ldquo;Trey&rdquo; Jacks III, Chris Carter, Jackie Brawner, and Jeff Bowling.</strong></p> <p><strong>With the Health Guidelines in place at this time, we ask that you be mindful of the social distancing measures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control.&nbsp; Masks are required.</strong></p> <p><strong>In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be made in his memory to:&nbsp; Alzheimer&#39;s Association, 6100 Dutchmans Lane # 401, Louisville, KY 40205.</strong></p> <p><strong>Jones &amp; Son Funeral Home is serving the family of George Martin Jacks.</strong></p>
