GLOUCESTER – Sandra “Sandi” R. (Gibran) Tarr, 70, of Gloucester passed away Friday morning, September 25, 2020 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers. She was the beloved wife of fifty years to John “Jack” Tarr. Born in Gloucester, she is the dear daughter of Mary (Salah) Gibran of Gloucester and the late Horace Gibran. Sandi was educated in Gloucester and was a graduate of Gloucester High School with the class of 1968. She furthered her education by attending the Lynn School of Business. Mrs. Tarr had been employed as the Principal Clerk for the Engineering Department for the City of Gloucester for twelve years. She also had been employed as a noon time supervisor and substitute teacher at the Plum Cove School in Gloucester for three years. Sandi was a member of the Holy Family Parish Church in Gloucester for many years. She was also extremely proud of her Lebanese Heritage. Sandi adored her family and was an exceptional wife, mother, and grandmother. “Sitto” loved her grandchildren, Lexi and Zach, and expressed her love in so many ways. Sandi and Jack traveled many places together but visits to Florida to be with their family and holidays at home were very special to her. Family gatherings were most important to Sandi. In addition to her mother and husband, Sandi is survived by her daughter, Nicole Carter and her husband Jonathan of Miami Shores, FL; two grandchildren, Zachary and Alexandra Carter; her brother, Gregg Gibran of West Palm Beach, FL and her brother-in-law, Richard Tarr of Gloucester. She was also the daughter-in-law of the late Roy and Lillian Tarr. Her Graveside Service will be held at Calvary Cemetery, 151 Eastern Avenue, Gloucester on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Please wear a face covering and practice social distancing while at the cemetery. A Celebration of her Life will be celebrated at a later date when we are all able to hug one another. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sandi’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org. Arrangements by the Campbell Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester.
