<p> Mr. David Michael Arnold “Papa Dave”, age 68, husband of Mary Estes Arnold of 1932 Whitmire Hwy., Union, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2020 at his home.</p> <p> Mr. Arnold was born in Laurens, March 4, 1952, a son of the late Hugh and Zonie Burke Boyter. He was a 1971 graduate of Union High School, earned an associate degree from USC-U and a degree in welding from Spartanburg Technical College.</p> <p> Surviving in addition to his wife of 50 years, Mary, are two sons, J. Nathan Arnold and Matthew Arnold; a granddaughter, Bella whom he loved so very much; a brother, Jimmy Arnold and wife Doris of Las Vegas, NV; a sister, Patricia Lipford and husband Robert of Whitmire; a sister-in-law, Susan Marsh and husband Doug; a brother-in-law, Jimmy Estes and wife Kris; nieces, Michelle Moore and husband Rich, Jan Snow, Carrie Kessler and Sandy Shockley, and nephews, Michael Bumgarner, Barry Gilliam, Jeff and Tim Shockley and Joseph Marsh and wife Michelle. He was predeceased by three sisters and their husbands, Brenda and Ronnie Bumgarner, Diane and Louie Kessler and Geraldine and Walt Shockley; and a brother and his wife, Billy and Martha Arnold.</p> <p> David believed that just because you are not blood, you can still be family. His extended sisters and brothers are Debbie and Kenny Lominack and their children, David Kingsmore and wife Amy and children, Bailey and Bradon; Lesley Kingsmore, and children, Hannah and Harrison; Andy Lominack and wife Kate and children, Gabe, Ben and Ruby; Emily and Jeff Cannon and their children, Rhett, Peyton, and Olivia; Sonja Cohen and children, Melanie Barnett and husband Scott and children, Matt and Bryce, Holly Lawson and husband Joey and child, Jordan, Dana Mason and husband Lee and children, Drew and Carlee.</p> <p> A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Shannon Faulkner.
