Doris Marie Martinez

Memorial services for Doris Marie Martinez, 79, of Rayville, LA were held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at the Holly Ridge Baptist Church, Holly Ridge, LA with Rev. Malcolm Dickerson and Mr. Daniel Mejias officiating.

Mrs. Doris was born April 3, 1941 in Shreveport, LA and passed away Sunday, September 27, 2020 in Holly Ridge, LA.

Mrs. Doris was a member of the Holly Ridge Baptist Church. She worked for a total of 28 years in the cafeteria’s at Holly Ridge Elementary and Delhi High School. She was a prayer warrior on BBN Prayer line. She taught Sunday School and was music leader. Mrs. Doris made herself available where she was needed, including missionary work.

Mrs. Doris is preceded in death by her parents, John Wesley and Belle Stewart; brother, David Stewart; and her sister, Ida Achee.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Dan Michael Martinez of Rayville; children, Janice Lofton and husband, Steve of Rayville and Michael Martinez and wife, Lisa of Delhi; grandchildren, Josh Lofton and wife, Jaime, Jenna Bolster and husband, Josh, and Daniel Martinez and wife, Taylor; 6-great grandchildren; sisters, Pat Tucker, Joy Williamson, Lois Albright, and Judy Cockerham; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Katie Stewart for her great care of Mrs. Doris.
