Arline Eunice Williams, 83, of Rochester, died at 3:40 p.m. on Friday, September 25, 2020, at her residence. Arline was born on June 19, 1937, in Sioux City, IA, the daughter of Even P. and Anna (Holsether) Morken. She married Perry Hugh Williams on August 7, 1956 in Wessington Springs, SD. Arline graduated from Irene High School and attended Wessington Springs College in South Dakota. She attended Calvary Church in Springfield, IL and was involved in various roles with the church such as Sunday School Teacher and VBS, children’s ministries, funeral dinners, and missions at the church. Arline enjoyed playing music and sang with the Calvary Church choir. She worked at Lollipop Daycare and then later retired from Lincoln Land Community College as a child development assistant. In her spare time, Arline enjoyed traveling, particularly to the Smokey Mountains, Alaska, and Nova Scotia. She also loved cooking, baking, and spending quality time with the family. Arline was an outgoing spirit who did not know a stranger. Arline was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Paul Morken; and son-in-law Dennis Dorr. She is survived by her husband, Perry; sons, Kenneth (Beth) Williams of Hoopstown and Michael (Mindy) Williams of Springfield; daughters, Laura Dorr of New Berlin and Janet Munkvold of Viborg, SD; and three cousins, Charles Holsether, Carol Munkvold, and Sheryl Heirigs, all of South Dakota. Arline was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life at a later date at Calvary Church in Springfield. A graveside ceremony will be held at a later date in South Dakota. Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Memorial contributions in memory of Arline Williams may be made to Calvary Missions at Calvary Church for Gary Williams Missions, 501 W Hazel Dell Rd., Springfield, IL 62712. The family is being served by Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, 800 S. Grand Ave. West, Springfield.
