Harold William Johnson

Harold W. Johnson age 92 of Sidney passed away at home under the loving care of his family and SpectrumHealth Hospice. He was born in Douglass Township, Montcalm County MI on October 7, 1924 the son of William and Gladys (Heathcoat) Johnson. Harold graduated in 1944 from Stanton Rural Agriculture High School and worked on his farm most all his life. He was a devoted and dedicated worker for the former Gibson Refrigerator Co retiring with 42 years of service. He married Marcia M. Brown Johnson on October 16, 1970 and loved his family unconditionally enjoying hunting and nature with them all.He was preceded in death by his son Erik William Johnson in 1984, his son Bruce Harold Johnson in 1988, grandson Sage Salvador Juarez in 2016 and also his brother Chuck Johnson and sister Florence Collins.He is survived by his wife Marcia, children; Carmen (Ron) Bennett, Dawn (John) Lewis, James (Tamela) Kellogg, Bernie (fiance’ Dawn Cramer) Johnson, Linnette Kellogg Edwards (Peter), Joel Kellogg (fiance’ Kristi Booher Moore), Laurel (Lewis) Tyler, Jeff Johnson (Life partner, Cindy Anderson), 26 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, Sisters; Helen Kissel and Inez Beach, brother Frank (Ethel) Johnson, several nieces and nephews, Sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Alice Ehlert and Norma Jean Heimbecker, Leo (Luraine) Brown and many grand/great grandchildren of the heart if not the law.Funeral services will be held at Hurst Funeral Home on Thursday May 25, 2017 at 11 AM with Rev. R. Mark Shaw officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 to 8 PM and 10 AM to 11 AM on Thursday. Private burial will be in East Montcalm Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Hope Food Pantry at Hope Lutheran Church Stanton.
