FLOOD, John David – of Mt. Morris, age 79, passed away on September 27, 2020. He loved his Heavenly Father dearly, and because of receiving undeserved grace, he is now in heaven with those of his family and friends that have gone before him. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Fellowship Baptist Church. Pastor Darrel Manning officiating. Burial at Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors on Friday, October 2, 2020 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of service at Fellowship Baptist Church. Memorial contributions can be made to the Old Newsboys of Flint. John was born September 27, 1941 in Pontiac, Michigan to the late Mabel (Darling) Flood-Cook and was the Step-Son of Gerald (Jude) Cook. He attended both Bendle and Mt. Morris High School graduating in 1960. John served his nation in the United States Air Force and it was while serving that he met his life long companion, Katherine (Winnie-Guy) Myers. They were married in Lecompton, Kansas. He spent 32 years working at Buick Motor Division retiring in 1996. John attended Fellowship Baptist Church in Clio. He loved camping at Old Orchard Park in Oscoda with his family and special camping friends. John enjoyed oil painting, riding his bike, American History and listening to classic Rock and Roll, Doo Wop, Country, Pop and Bluegrass music. He was a strong believer that someone left the ‘C’ off Rap. He leaves his wife, Kathy; son, Scott (Amy) of Virginia Beach, Virginia; daughter, Jo Lynn (Mike) Allen of Mt. Morris; Grandchildren, Jeremy (Kaye) Flood, Anna (Samuel) Gilbertson, Chad Flood, Jake Allen, Paige Allen; great grandchildren, Westin Flood, Dace Flood, Graham Gilbertson, Walker Gilbertson; sister, Linda Salter. Also left behind are many friends, including special friend, Glenn Wheeler. He was preceded in death by his mother, dad, step-dad, sisters, Mary Lou, Patty; brother in laws, Ronald Taylor, Fred Fischer.
