Mrs. Carolyn DeAngelo, age 82, affectionately known by her family and friends as “The Nannie,” entered into rest on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at her home with her loving family by her side. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be 6:00 PM Friday, October 2, 2020 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Pastor Jeff Williams. The family will greet friends Friday from 5:00 – 6:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home, and other times at the home, 522 Hawkins Road, Hartsville, SC.

 

Mrs. DeAngelo was born May 7, 1938 in Weymouth, MA a daughter of the late Francis and Hazel Deree Chase. She was a retired caregiver having worked many years at Assisted Living Facilities in Massachusetts. Carolyn relocated to S.C. a little over 13 years ago to be near her family. She was an avid New York Giants fan and occasionally pulled for the New Orleans Saints. A very artistic lady, Carolyn enjoyed painting and working with crafts. Of all things enjoyable in her life being “The Nannie” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren was of utmost enjoyment and importance.

 

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was also preceded in death by her husbands, Frank DeAngelo and George Myers; and son-in-law, Timothy Hazel Hogan.

 

Survivors include her children, Karen Hogan of Hartsville, SC, Anthony (Susan) DeAngelo of MA, and Marie DeAngelo of Hartsville, SC; grandchildren, David Williams, Angela Hogan, Timothy Hogan, Crystal (Sammy) Melton, Crystal (Cortez) Vaughn, and Christopher Roque all of Hartsville, SC, Danielle DeAngelo, Dominique DeAngelo, and Anthony Michael (Katie) DeAngelo all of MA; 16 great grandchildren and 2 on the way.

 

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to C.N.A. Jay Tedder and the entire staff of Homestead Hospice of Florence, SC for their extraordinary care and support shown to Mrs. DeAngelo and her family.
