Melissa Anne Rowland

Melissa Anne Roy Rowland of Weirton, the most caring and genuine person you could ever meet, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2020, at the age of 39. Born on March 18, 1981, in Weirton, WV, Melissa was the second born child to James Michael and Eva Marie Kowalik Roy, Sr. Melissa grew up in Weirton, WV, and graduated from Weir High School in 1999. After high school, she worked as a nurse aide on the fifth floor at Trinity Hospital for 15 years. In her free time, Melissa would always be there for others, constantly running and caring for her children. She loved decorating her home and making things with her Cricut. She loved traveling to Hilton Head with her family and always dreamed about retiring in the Carolina’s. Melissa always wore her flip flops year-round. She and her husband Chad also loved to go out to eat and try new restaurants. Wings were her favorite. They also shared their love for Hockey and would cheer for the Pittsburgh Penguins. But nothing compared to the unconditional love she had for her family. She cherished the times watching them play soccer, attending their school activities, or just having a movie night at home. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Clyde G. Roy, Jr. and Steve, and Olga Kowalik; her aunt Judy Duvall. She passed away with her daughter, Madison Renee “Flo” Crowe.
